Curiosities: The architect Kazuyo Sejima (妹 島 和 世) was born in Japan in 1956. She graduated in her home country, where she also workes professionally.
She also has projects in other countries, such as Holland, USA, France, Germany and Spain. In 1992 she was named the architect of the year in Japan. In 1995, she began her partnership with the architect Ryue Nishizawa. Together they founded the architectural firm SANAA, where they developed a number of innovative buildings, among which we can highlight the Rolex Learning Center in Switzerland and the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. In 2010, they won together the Pritzker Prize, one of the world's major architectural awards.
Kazuyo also has an academic career. She was a professor at Princeton University, in the United States, at the Polytechnic of Lausanne, Switzerland, and at the Keio and Tama Art University in Japan.
